The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and the MUM files (.mum) that are installed for each environment are listed separately in the "Additional file information for Windows Server 2008 R2 and for Windows 7" section. MUM and MANIFEST files, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are extremely important to maintaining the state of the updated component. The security catalog files, for which the attributes are not listed, are signed with a Microsoft digital signature.

Windows Server 2008 R2 also included some new services, such as Remote Desktop Services, or RDS, which repackaged Terminal Services. Additionally, DirectAccess and BranchCache were introduced, designed to provide better server access to users in remote locations.

This serial port emulator can randomly generate test data or read it from text or binary files. The data can then be sent to test a port as many times as necessary to achieve the desired results. The app can fill the role of a server or client over an IP-based network. It supports full-duplex mode as well as flow control for serial and RS232 ports.

NetCom 111 is an industrial-strength network-based serial device server for connecting one RS232 device like CNC, PLC, weighting scale, scanner and other devices directly to the 10/100Mbps Ethernet network running TCP/IP.In addition to allowing serial devices to get networked, any host (PC Server or Workstation) without network access can also access remote serial device via adding NetCom devices to the existing serial port. NetCom 111 can be configured over Driver Panels, WEB Browser, serial Port, Telnet, SNMP and serves as a transparent serial channel without platform and distance limitation.New: The serial connector is pin-compatible to Com1 on a PC, as DB9 male. The Server Message Block protocol (SMB protocol) is a client-server communication protocol used for sharing access to files, printers, serial ports and other resources on a network. It can also carry transaction protocols for interprocess communication. Over the years, SMB has been used primarily to connect Windows computers, although most other systems -- such as Linux and macOS -- also include client components for connecting to SMB resources.

The first and most important thing to know is that this upgrade has several stages. Don't expect to be able to put a Windows Server 2022 ISO into a Windows Server 2008 R2 server, selecting install, and have a fully updated Windows Server 2022 machine a few restarts later.
